Sumisip, officially the Municipality of Sumisip (Yakan: Bulak Sumisip; Chavacano: Municipalidad de Sumisip; {{langx|tl|Bayan ng Sumisip}}), is a municipality in the province of Basilan, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 47,345 people.{{PH census|current}}

History
On August 2, 1993, vice mayor Sattaman Hataman was seriously injured in an ambush by Muslim rebels whilst riding a jeep home with his family and bodyguards; his wife Nora and daughter Hasma were killed during the attack, while a bodyguard was held hostage.{{cite news|last=Daomilas|first=Jun|title=Vice mayor's wife, child slain in Basilan ambush.|work=Manila Standard|publisher=Kamahalan Publishing Corp.|date=August 4, 1993|page=2|quote=The ambush was carried out by some 20 gunmen who fired at Sattaman Hataman, vice mayor of Sumisip[...] late Monday, according to a report from Servando Hizon, provincial commander of the Philippine National Police (PNP).}}
On December 4, 1995, former mayor Abdulgafor Abubakar was about to ride his motorcycle parked near the Isabela Central Elementary Pilot School in Ilagan, Isabela when he was assassinated by two gunmen.
