The Sutter Basin is a {{convert|264|sqmi|km2|abbr=on}}{{cite book|title=Engineering and Contracting|date=1913|volume=39|publisher=Gillette Publishing Company|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=VKjmAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA404|page=404|accessdate=2015-08-25}} area of the Sacramento Valley in the U.S. state of California, and is part of the Feather River drainage basin. Sutter Bypass

The Sutter Bypass is a leveed channel of the Lower Sacramento Valley Flood-Control System along the southwest portion of the Sutter Basin.{{Cite gnis|233372|Sutter By-Pass (GNIS code 233372)|accessdate=2010-10-06}} The bypass allows channeling of escapement flow from the Tisdale Weir near the Sutter Buttes to the Feather River at {{coord|38.885421|N|121.614532|W|region:US-CA_type:river}}.
