Syneron Medical Ltd., also known as Syneron Candela, is a company that develops and markets devices for cosmetic surgery procedures like hair removal and wrinkle treatments.

Syneron Medical was founded in 2000 by Shimon Eckhouse, after he departed from Lumenis, which he had founded in 1991, and which also sold medical devices for cosmetic treatments. Lumenis sued Eckhouse and Syneron in 2002 for theft of trade secrets.{{cite news|title=Lumenis sues founder Shimon Eckhouse for $30m|url=http://www.globes.co.il/serveen/globes/docview.asp?did=618216|newspaper=Globes|date=12 September 2002}} The litigation was resolved in 2004, with Syneron paying Lumenis $1.5M and royalties.{{cite news |last1=Alon |first1=Ido |title=Lumenis Reaches Settlement With Syneron Medical Over Patent Dispute |url=https://www.haaretz.com/1.4830430 |work=Haaretz |date=January 21, 2004 |language=en}}

During the 2008 financial crisis, the company was not able to sustain its growth; it acquired Candela, which sold similar products to dermatologists and plastic surgeons.{{cite news |last=Tsipori |first=Tali |title=מנכ"ל סינרון: 'Candela חיזרה אחרינו ולא אנחנו אחריה' |url=http://www.globes.co.il/news/article.aspx?did=1000593288 |accessdate=22 October 2011|newspaper=Globes|date=12 October 2010|language=Hebrew|trans-title=Syneron CEO: 'Candela courted us and not we it'}}

In 2017 Syneron was acquired by Apax Partners, which took the company private.{{cite news |title=Apax Partners in talks to buy Israel's Syneron Medical -report |url=https://www.reuters.com/article/syneron-med-apax-idUSL8N1FY1KF |work=Reuters |date=February 13, 2017}}{{cite news |title=Syneron completes $400m sale to Apax, move to private|url=https://www.massdevice.com/syneron-completes-400m-sale-apax-move-private/ |work=Apax/Syneron Via MassDevice |date=July 17, 2017}}
