Szadzenie ({{IPA|pl|ʂaˈd͡zɛɲɛ|lang}}) is a regional phonological feature of the Polish language. It consists in replacement or merger of dental affricates {{IPA|/t͡s/, /d͡z/|}} ⟨c, dz⟩ and dental fricatives {{IPA|/s/, /z/|}} ⟨s, z⟩ into their retroflex counterparts i.e. retroflex affricates {{IPA|/t͡ʂ/, /d͡ʐ/|}} ⟨cz, dż⟩ and retroflex fricatives {{IPA|/ʂ/, /ʐ/|}} ⟨sz, ż/rz⟩, respectively.{{cite book |last=Kuraszkiewicz |first=Władysław |date=1972 |title=Gramatyka historyczna języka polskiego |pages=92 |language=pl |location=Warszawa |publisher=Państwowe Zakłady Wydawnictw Szkolnych }} Szadzenie is caused by the hypercorrect avoidance of {{lang|pl|mazurzenie}} (mazuration) which is phonetically marked as rural and incorrect.
