TPD52L2

{{Short description|Protein-coding gene in the species Homo sapiens}}

{{Infobox_gene}}Tumor protein D54 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TPD52L2 gene.{{cite journal | vauthors = Byrne JA, Nourse CR, Basset P, Gunning P | title = Identification of homo- and heteromeric interactions between members of the breast carcinoma-associated D52 protein family using the yeast two-hybrid system | journal = Oncogene | volume = 16 | issue = 7 | pages = 873–81 | date = Mar 1998 | pmid = 9484778 | doi = 10.1038/sj.onc.1201604 | s2cid = 9948136 | doi-access = }}{{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: TPD52L2 tumor protein D52-like 2| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=7165}}

Interactions

TPD52L2 has been shown to interact with TPD52L1 and TPD52.

Cellular function

TPD52L2 has a role in membrane traffic.{{cite journal | vauthors = Larocque G, La-Borde PJ, Clarke NI, Carter NJ, Royle SJ | title = Tumor protein D54 defines a new class of intracellular transport vesicle | journal = J Cell Biol | volume = 219| year = 2019 | issue = 1 | pmid = 31672706 | doi = 10.1083/jcb.201812044 | pmc = 7039206 | doi-access = free }} TPD52L2 is found on small transport vesicles, termed intracellular nanovesicles, that transfer proteins between different cellular compartments. When TPD52L2 is depleted from HeLa cells, the following trafficking pathways are impaired: anterograde traffic, recycling of cargo and Golgi integrity. Proteomic analysis indicates that TPD52L2 is one of the most abundant proteins expressed in HeLa cells.{{cite journal | vauthors = Hein MY, Hubner NC, Poser I, Cox J, Nagaraj N, Toyoda Y, Gak IA, Weisswange I, Mansfeld J, Buchholz F, Hyman AA, Mann M | title = A human interactome in three quantitative dimensions organized by stoichiometries and abundances | journal = Cell | volume = 163 | issue = 3 | pages = 712–23 | year = 2017 | pmid = 26496610 | doi = 10.1016/j.cell.2015.09.053 | doi-access = free }}
