The Taehung Youth Hero Mine(대흥청년영웅광산) is one of the largest magnesium mines in North Korea and in the world.{{cite web|url=http://nautilus.org/napsnet/napsnet-special-reports/the-mining-industry-of-north-korea/#axzz2XwI9IQgT|title=The mining industry of North Korea|year=2009|publisher=chinapost.com.tw|accessdate=2013-07-03}} The mine is located in the center of the country in South Hamgyong Province.
