The Taiwan bullfinch (Pyrrhula owstoni) is a species of finch in the family Fringillidae. It is endemic to the mountains of Taiwan. It was previously considered a subspecies of the grey-headed bullfinch (P. erythaca) and most authorities consider it as such, but a 2020 study found it to represent a distinct species that diverged from the mainland Asian P. erythaca during the mid-Pleistocene, and the International Ornithological Congress accepted it as such.{{Cite web|title=Pyrrhula erythaca owstoni (Grey-headed Bullfinch (owstoni)) - Avibase|url=https://avibase.bsc-eoc.org/species.jsp?avibaseid=BD3982A72AB844F5|access-date=2021-01-23|website=avibase.bsc-eoc.org}}{{Cite journal|last1=Dong|first1=Feng|last2=Li|first2=Shou-Hsien|last3=Chiu|first3=Chi-Cheng|last4=Dong|first4=Lu|last5=Yao|first5=Cheng-Te|last6=Yang|first6=Xiao-Jun|date=2020-12-01|title=Strict allopatric speciation of sky island Pyrrhula erythaca species complex|url=http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S105579032030213X|journal=Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution|language=en|volume=153|pages=106941|doi=10.1016/j.ympev.2020.106941|pmid=32818596 |s2cid=221220752 |issn=1055-7903|url-access=subscription}}{{Cite web|title=Species Updates – IOC World Bird List|url=https://www.worldbirdnames.org/new/updates/species-updates/|access-date=2021-01-23|language=en-US}}
