Parcon since 2014.
History
On the night of May 1, 1521, in present-day Cebu, the remaining Spaniards after the Battle of Mactan four days earlier, fell into an attack organized by the locals. The lay missionaries aboard Trinidad left the ship as it is continuously attacked, and paddled to the Talibon-Jetafe area for safety. They married local people in the area and subsequently introduced them to Christianity. Talibon then was dedicated to the Most Holy Trinity (Santissima Trinidad), the namesake of their ship. In 1596, members of the Society of Jesus arrived in Bohol to put up parish missions in the island and noticed that lay missions were already active in the area, particularly in Talibon where Magellan's men took refuge in 1521.{{cite book |last1=Zaide |first1=Sonia |title=The Philippines: A Unique Nation, 2nd ed. |date=1999 |publisher=All-Nations Publishing Co., Inc. |location=Quezon City |page=84}}{{cite book |last1=Romanillos |first1=Emanuel Luis A. |title=The Beginnings of Christianity in Bohol |date=1995 |publisher=Rodriguez Printers |location=Quezon City |page=36,48}}{{cite book |last1=Luengo |first1=Jose Ma. |title=A History of the Philippines with Focus on Bohol |date=1991 |publisher=Mater Dei Publications |location=Tubigon |page=17-24}}{{cite book |last1=De La Costa |first1=Horacio |title=The Jesuits in the Philippines |date=1961 |publisher=Harvard University Press |location=Cambridge, Mass. |page=145}}
