Photo
If anyone has a suitable image, it would be appreciated if you uploaded it to Wikimedia Commons and then included it in this article. Kattskrället (talk) 21:56, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
:Note that the image with the "The site 3 minutes before the crash" caption does not in fact show the crash site at all. That image shows the eastern ventilation tower of the Holland tunnel as well as Pier 40 (with its very recognizable "I want to thank you" message), while the crash happened right next to the western ventilation tower of the Holland tunnel, which is not visible at all in that image, and on the other side of the Hudson river from Pier 40. Here is a better image of the crash site (from 2015, though): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:HollandTunnelVentTowerHudRivJC_crop.jpg 100.35.197.187 (talk) 03:42, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
::I looked at [https://wikimap.toolforge.org WikiMap] and there are also a series of photos taken from Jersey City of the Manhattan skyline in 2022 that show the area of the crash site near the ventilation tower of the Holland Tunnel. Here is an example of one of them: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Manhattan_Skyline_from_Jersey_City_091.jpg. The ventilation building also has its own category on Commons: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Holland_Tunnel_ventilation_building_(Jersey_City). It would probably be helpful if the article text described this ventilation tower as a point of reference that the crash site was located near, if the structure has been mentioned in a reliable source. Then a photo from this area could be used in lieu of one of Pier 40 in Manhattan. Note that the Holland Tunnel has two ventilation structures in New Jersey (one on the waterfront next to River Drive, one on the pier), so it's not technically the "western ventilation tower". I found a [https://www.panynj.gov/port-authority/en/blogs/land/holland-tunnel-pier-project-ends--reopening-jersey-city-waterfro.html 2020 press release from th Port Authority] that refers to the structure as the "New Jersey River Ventilation Building" and refers to its access pier as "Pier 9". Coordinates
May I suggest that 4 decimal points is accurate enough and that dms is a better display than decimals? Mjroots (talk) 05:44, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
:Google Maps has taken to providing 16-digit coordinates in what is believed to be a copyright trap scheme, which unknowing users copy and paste into Wikipedia. That level of precision is in the 1/100th of a micrometer range. The WP:OPCOORD guideline calls for rounding or truncating coordinates, which for nearly all purposes works out to DD°MM'SS" or D.dddd°. Abductive (reasoning) 06:06, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
:: 7 Australia has a nice map {{youtube|la_fHbRnhDg|la_fHbRnhDg}} (1m00s-1m15s), which someone could replicate in some open map, and extract the coordinates from the open mapping software -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 16:21, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
[[New York Helicopter]] =/= [[New York Helicopters]]
Please note that New York Helicopter (1980-1988) is not the same as the company being claimed as the operator of the helicopter, variously called New York Helicopters / New York Helicopter Charter / etc. -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 11:30, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
Commons
{{commonscat|N216MH (aircraft)}}
The Commons category is :COMMONS:category:N216MH (aircraft), which WikiCleanerMan incorrectly inputed as {{tlx|commons|N216MH (aircraft)}} when it should have been {{tlx|commonscat|N216MH (aircraft)}} since the selected template was for galleries (:COMMONS:N216MH (aircraft) is incorrect) and not categories. The original link was not a box, but instead a line, using {{tlx|commonscatinline|N216MH (aircraft)}} before WikiCleanerMan moved it around.
- {{commonscatinline|N216MH (aircraft)}}
Though, someone might want to create an actual category for the accident.

:{{done}} Someone has created a Commons category specifically for this topic -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 21:56, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
ICAO Flight number
Per ATC record, its flight 39. 211.72.15.126 (talk) 02:30, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
:Do we have a reliable source for this? The infobox and now the article title give the flight number, but with no WP:V. {{ping|Arrow Air charter}} following your [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=New_York_Helicopter_Flight_39&diff=prev&oldid=1285334289 move], perhaps that's something you could provide? Suspension of air carrier certificate
There are new reports indicating that the Director of Operations for NY Helicopter was fired by executive Roth for agreeing the cease flights "sixteen minutes" after a phone call with the FAA, per [https://edition.cnn.com/2025/04/13/us/schumer-helicopter-company-hudson-river-crash/index.html CNN] and [https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/14/nyregion/nyc-helicopter-crash-rotor-hudson.html the New York Times]. In [https://www.faa.gov/media/93311 this Emergency Order of Suspension] from the FAA, the FAA says Roth's actions are retaliatory and now suspended their air carrier certificate. Worth mentioning in the article? Limmidy (talk) 18:54, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
:Can New York Helicopter Charter, Inc. stand as an article on its own? (does it meet GNG?) If so, that solves the problem of where to put your information. There has been two other hard landings by this airline, and Roth was in the news commenting when NY was going to restrict helicopters in the mid-2000s -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 21:21, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
