:It does seem like a bit out of scope for an introduction, indeed. I do not think it is a good idea. In fact, the circumstance that the only pictures (beyond Michael and Highest 2 Lowest) currently mentioned in an article called "2025 in film" (in the lead, no less) are films that are not from 2025 already suggests that something is broken.--Asqueladd (talk) 09:46, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

:::I was talking about the random mention to non-2025 films in the introduction. It's bizarre and out of scope. Not to say it does an awful job at outlining the topic of the page. I propose to remove all anniversaries from the lead altogether. :::::As an update similar lines of trivia were in some articles dating back to the 1990s. I removed all of these as well per Wikipedia:TRIVIA. As an example, this is what the lead of 2021 in film contained: "The release of Steven Spielberg's adaptation of West Side Story coincided with the 60th anniversary of the musical's 1961 film adaptation. A Clockwork Orange, Fiddler on the Roof, The French Connection and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory celebrated their 50th anniversaries. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Shrek, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Monsters, Inc., Spirited Away, Amélie and The Fast and the Furious celebrated its 20th anniversary.
