Acephalous

This is connected with societies regarded as "stateless societies" with no formal governmental institutions. Decisions are reached through consensus or general assembly. In pre colonial Nigeria, the Igbos were a typical example. They were also regarded egalitarian or republican(somehow) IngeniousProphet (talk) 16:30, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

Minoan Crete Was Not Stateless

This article states that Minoan Crete was a stateless and rankless society, but this is clearly false. Minoan Society was centred around palaces that functioned as state centres for redistribution. Minoan art also showed clear stratification of classes. I can't speak for Indus and the Neolithic European civilisations also mentioned in the citation, but I am tempted to remove the whole sentence altogether for being of dubious scholarly quality.

3 Pages that Link Here Suggested for Deletion

Hello,

I put proposals for deletion for three articles that link to this article (permanent links to recent edits of the pages in case they are in fact deleted)

  • https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lineage-bonded_society&oldid=1246683536
  • https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Village-bonded_society&oldid=1246683005

All three are very similar and appear to have been created by the same editor, using the same (uncited and unlinked) source. I wanted to leave a record of them here as it seems that, if citations can be found, they could perhaps be a section within this article. Jan kala kabinet (talk) 14:30, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
