Merge with acrylate?

The possible merger with acrylate:

This artical should not be merged with acrylate as an acrylate is a single ion (although could be a polymer ion but is not usually the meaning of the term) rather than a polymer. They are two distinct concepts. --Ksbrown 20:53, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Acrylates are not strictly ions, but can include esters of the acrylate functional group. However, I agree the polymers page should be kept separate from the monomer (Acrylate)page.

Secondly, is n-butanol really a monomer for acrylate polymers? That is not evident to me. King harvest 17:00, 19 July 2007 (UTC)King harvest

Merge proposal

The article Acrylic Elastomer, seems that it may be about the same thing. I do not know enough about the subject to be positive. It Seems that it should be merged and redirected. Both articles are quite small, and the newly created one needs major work (wikify, categories, etc.). Any thoughts? ./zro (⠠⠵) 18:31, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

I do not believe that these articles should be combined because when searching for polyacrylates or a similar polymer, you would not want an elastomer to show up in the results, and vice versa. these are technically two different compounds.
