Hi, I would like for you to create an "impact" section which discusses about Adele's impact and influence.

American accent?

Would it be possible to explain why she seems to have an American accent when she sings, but not when she talks? I can find no mention of this in the Voice section Paul Magnussen (talk) 06:44, 5 May 2024 (UTC)

:I personally have no idea how you've come to this conclusion, as her pronunciation while singing sounds solidly English to my American ears (c.f. "Chasing Pavements"), but if you find a secondary source, have at it. NewkirkPlaza (talk) 20:42, 4 March 2025 (UTC)

Change the word ‘district’ to Borough. Tottenham is not a district it is a Borough. HistoricFalacy (talk) 11:48, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

:{{done}} Since Tottenham is neither a district nor a borough, I replaced "in the Tottenham district of London" with "in Tottenham, London". Please see edit summary for the other possible option. M.Bitton (talk) 12:46, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

::Oh my apologies, yes Tottenham is not a borough HistoricFalacy (talk) 19:03, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

known mononymously - is it needed?

Is “known mononymously as Adele” actually needed when the title of this article makes that very clear? QueenCoatsie (talk) 15:42, 27 March 2025 (UTC)

:No. Nikkimaria (talk) 03:28, 28 March 2025 (UTC)

:Yes, it is needed because she uses "Adele" as her stage name. Otherwise one might think that people collectively decided to ditch her full name and call her just "Adele". That's not the case. ✩ Dream Indigo ✩ 13:11, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

::I want to add that, without that sentence, we must change most instances of just "Adele" to "Adkins". ✩ Dream Indigo ✩ 13:14, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

:::No, because according to the manual style for a biography the stage name is used throughout the article if that is what the person is best known as, see MOS:PSEUDONYM. QueenCoatsie (talk) 16:20, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

::::I know, but not every reader knows that "Adele" is her stage name. So we either explain that she's "known mononymously as Adele" and we call her "Adele" or we remove that and we call her Adkins (which I don't like). This is what I mean. I don't want to call her "Adkins", but if we call her "Adele" it should be explained in the article that "Adele" is her stage name. Sorry for the confusion :) ✩ Dream Indigo ✩ 16:26, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

::Exactly. She uses her first name as her stage name and she’s best known as that which is why the article title is “Adele” and not her full name. QueenCoatsie (talk) 16:21, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

Career

Under the section "2006–2010: Career beginnings and 19," there is a reference to a song called Be Divine that has a better source needed note. I have found a better source! The podcast Pop Pantheon references the song in the episode titled [https://pod.link/1556457357/episode/c7bc6b2872d83d279209e6a5f00b1878 "ADELE: PART 1 (with the New York Times' Leah Greenblatt)"]. I can't add this reference because this page is semi-locked. Can someone verified add it? Thank you! UnctuousHippo (talk) 19:47, 10 April 2025 (UTC)

:Hey @UnctuousHippo! I'm the person who added that tag. This source is a slight improvement over the current source (just a link to the song...) so I will add it to the article, but we still need a more reliable source. This podcast, because it is a sort of infotainment (information through the lens of entertainment) with significant editorializing, it isn't considered a reliable source. I encourage you to review the WP:RS on what is and isn't considered a reliable source. I'll keep the tag on for now, but I encourage you to keep looking for a more reliable source and greatly appreciate bringing this to our attention! Cheers! SSR07 (talk) 23:14, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
