American English vs British English

The article is tagged with {{tl|Use American English}} since November 2012, and {{tl|Use mdy dates}} since June 2013.

Per WP:DATERET, the article should continue to use "mdy". (I prefer "mdy")

Per WP:RETAIN, the article should use "footballer" instead of "soccer player" (contradicting the American English tag) because it uses "footballer" since 2012. (I prefer footballer) SLBedit (talk) 12:51, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

:Why does it use mdy fmt? Most other Brazilian footballers use dmy. Just because something has been wrong for 2 years does not stop it being wrong. GiantSnowman 13:03, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

::I'm not sure that "most" Brazilian footballers do use dmy. Most articles about Brazilian footballers playing in Europe might, perhaps because they're actively edited by editors who prefer that format. But this article has used mdy since it was started in 2007 by a Brazilian editor in very good standing whose Brazil-related creations run into four figures. It also used American spelling from the outset, e.g. "systematizer" with a "z", and [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Alan_Kardec&diff=326042138&oldid=325898427 this 2009 correction]. Incidentally, the sentence including the word "systematizer" could do with a source: I wouldn't know where to look. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 13:43, 6 February 2015 (UTC)
