Editor instructions in the Popular Culture section
While possibly intended in good faith, the current phrasing smacks of gatekeeping and elitism, as in "the examples we've selected are good enough, your contribution is not appreciated".
Guys, that is not how to expand and better our project. Rephrasing to more neutral language; basically, if you provide a reliable source, we appreciate your contribution.
tl;dr: stop trying to fend off submissions - this article is not yours. CapnZapp (talk) 08:11, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
:Agree wholeheartedly, if there are more popular culture examples they should not be gatekept. Ashallion (talk) 18:24, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
ADD DICKEY LEE'S SONG "AMELIA EARHART'S LAST FLIGHT"
In 1973, American singer Dickey Lee released a tribute song to Amelia Earhart entitled "Amelia Earhart's Last Flight". See https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=dickey+lee+amelia. The song is a respectful narration of her disappearance, and therefore ought to be included in the In Popular Culture - Music section of the article. 2600:4040:AC9F:6100:935:6A95:F64C:4858 (talk) 14:24, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
:Dickey Lee is a notable performer, but we would need more than just that WP:PRIMARY source to support the notability of the song (e.g. it's not mentioned anywhere in the Lee article). Although Earhart might be highly relevant to the song, the reverse is not necessarily true. Martinevans123 (talk) 14:29, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
Christopher Tin's "Courage"
Christopher Tin (composer of famous works in video game music, e.g. Civilization) composed an oratorio on the history of humanity and flight, To Shiver the Sky, which includes 11 separate pieces using famous literature / words as its lyrical composition. Earhart's [https://www.poemist.com/amelia-earhart/courage "Courage"] poem constitutes and lends its name to the eighth installment in the oratorio, thus including Earhart in a small collection of some of the most notable figures and events in the history of flight. I would advocate for its inclusion in the Popular Culture / Music section, as its a beautiful setting of her words to choral and orchestral performance and popularizes a little-known aspect of her personality.

Edit for death location:
Roughly 60 miles SW (southwest) of Howland Island according to the Date Line Theory. (Said theory was developed by Liz Smith, a former NASA employee and current amateur pilot.) 73.18.150.11 (talk) 11:18, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
:Do you have a good source for Smith's theory? Many thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:31, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
::@Martinevans123 I think these claims stem from YouTube videos that claim the team that is doing imaging in that area supposedly recovered metal pieces which match the Electra. I can't seem to find the original report or any updated information from other sources other than the team's website. The larger community seems to not have reacted with the exception of the Smithsonian which said they were "Intrigued". Vote to wait until more sources are published. :::Many thanks for the info. Yes, I agree, wait and see. Martinevans123 (talk) 13:38, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
:::According to https://www.cbsnews.com/news/sonar-not-amelia-earhart-plane-rock-formation-exploration-team/
:::"Deep Sea Vision (DSV), a South Carolina-based firm, released the blurry image in January captured by an unmanned submersible of what it said may be Earhart's plane on the seafloor."
:::"After 11 months the waiting has finally ended and unfortunately our target was not Amelia's Electra 10E (just a natural rock formation)," Deep Sea Vision said. Sollupulo (talk) 23:42, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
:{{Not done}}: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Aston305 (talk) 14:41, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
They found Earhart's plane in Jan '24
They found her plane and evidence that she probably survived the crash in Jan '24.

I think you should add the Bob's Burger's Episode Amelia to the Pop Culture Section. 2600:8800:158A:BB00:7C9F:C6D5:8B89:D0E5 (talk) 00:04, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
:File:Red question icon with gradient background.svg Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. If you provide the specific text you want to be added, it may be considered for inclusion. But it would need to be something that was a significant aspect of Earhart's overall cultural reception, not mere trivia. Day Creature (talk) 00:54, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
