Acronym Amul [http://www.amul.com/organisation.html]

Amul's site talks about GCMMF and not Kheda. There is no mention of Acronym Amul.Chirags 21:12, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Yup. That seems to be a backronym invented by an adult telling a story, on a cold winter night in Gujarat; which caught on. Suitably modified the opening statement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.224.246.123 (talk) 21:12, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

Written as advertisement

I have noticed that some portions of article are written as an advertisement.

There is a need of re-writing or editing those articles

The images used of "500 gram pack of Amul Cheese" and "100 gram pack of Amul Butter"

this implied advertising and marketing and the portions which looked biased or advertising are as follows:

The Amul Pattern has established itself as a uniquely appropriate model for rural development. Amul has spurred the White Revolution of India, which has made India the largest producer of milk and milk products n the world [citation needed].

Other Amul brands are Amul Kool, a low calorie thirst quenching drink; Masti Butter Milk; Kool Cafe, ready to drink coffee and India's first sports drink Stamina.

The success of Amul was instrumental in launching the White Revolution that resulted in increased milk production in India[citation needed]. It is officially termed as Operation Flood by Amul[citation needed].

There are various adjectives used in these lines and claims without citations which points towards advertizing.

I am adding tag to the article. --Shekhartagra (talk) 10:43, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

:I entirely agree. This article is ridiculously long and more like an advertisement than a Wikipedia entry; it needs heavy editing and shortening. Languagehat (talk) 01:17, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Article too long and has double history sections

This article has two (2) history sections. Is that really necessary? (the first history section appears to be merged/leeched into the introduction which makes it far too long. In general, the article is too long-winded and promotional in tone for a cooperation or company brand. It needs to be rewritten and condensed. 78.94.33.52 (talk) 10:05, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

The future

No doubt the credit of building milk cooperatives, GCMMF and Amul goes to Dr. V. The great success of these organizations should be extended to the other agricultural products like vegetables, grains etc. What happens after Dr. is something to be watched. The main article does not need editing.

People who want to give credits need to first learn about the history of milk cooperatives, AMUL, GCMMF, NDDB, IRMA, Tribhuvandas Foundation. I will not go into the details of credits, but would surely say that organizations created by Tribhuvandas Patel (yes all of these) will survive beyond him, beyond his student Dr. Kurien and beyond generations, because they are built on mutual trust and with a non political foundation.
