Comment on oyster beds

I had always heard the story of the oyster beds dying out due to mining pollution. However, "Reflections in Bulloughs Pond" by Diana Muir reports on a similar phenomenon in New England around the same time, which she attributes to sewage (introduction of running water rapidly increased household water usage, thus creating the need to dispose of that same water, cesspits no longer being sufficient- hence fecal matter which previously was accumulated and disposed of on land was discharged on masse into the waterways.) Amendments

Transport

Bus Eireann's 006 service is no longer in operation.

There is a train running every day which travels as far as Dundalk (Waterford connection seems to get a mention)

Bridgewater

Bridgewater Shopping Center seems to get no mention, despite being the main retail area of the town.

:Its been a while. But it looks like the bus and rail points/updates have been addressed in the meantime. I've added a [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Arklow&type=revision&diff=947732418&oldid=947730899 summary section] covering retail. Including Bridgewater. Allergan

The article says "Allergan confirmed on 30 January 2008 that they will move their production to Costa Rica. This will take place over the next two years." It's now 2013. Anyone care to update? Jonur (talk) 06:15, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

:It is now 2020. I have updated/removed the text. (I'm not sure anyone has this article on their watchlist. So I have added it to mine.) Guliolopez (talk) 02:09, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Bus Éireann 133 service no longer serves Arklow

I noticed today that the article still says that Bus Éireann serves Arklow on the 133 route. However, this is no longer the case. The only Bus Éireann route that serves Arklow now is the Expressway route 2 service. 86.43.104.172 (talk) 15:23, 22 March 2025 (UTC)

:Thanks for your note. I've [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Arklow&curid=437680&action=history tweaked the section] to reflect the more up-to-date timetables. And your note. And [https://www.independent.ie/regionals/wicklow/arklow-news/nta-approve-new-operator-to-replace-former-arklow-133-bus-route/a1975178453.html this] (which appears to confirm the "cessation of Bus Éireann's 133 bus routes through the town"). Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 16:19, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
