Draft talk: Beebe Freitas

Esteemed Colleagues,

I would appreciate a third party person or persons looking over a bio I’ve prepared for submission. The subject is one of Hawaii’s most respected, revered musicians, heavily honored, whom I feel is of wider interest since she is responsible for hiring performers from all over the world for performance here in the Islands. Those musicians would surely appreciate having some knowledge about the person who is making those decisions.

I’ve submitted her bio twice and it has been rejected. Now, I’m faced with either having corrected the mistakes or having the bio rejected altogether with no further submittals allowed. The first rejection was for poor writing, the second for lack of citation. I’ve taken over two months’ time to completely re-think the text, research new sources and insert citations where needed. I now feel I’m too close to the material to perhaps judge it correctly; plus I would feel terrible if my shortcomings were the reason why the bio was rejected.

I would sincerely appreciate others’ opinions before final submittal. The address for access to the text is:

Thank you for your kind assistance.
