The phrase "under a dictatorship" conveys a biased and politically motivated perspective, which can be seen as instrumentalizing Wikipedia for other agendas (a similar phrase has also been added in the Wikipedia page dedicated to Russia). To maintain neutrality, it is essential to describe the form of government as defined and enshrined in each country's constitution. The use of other sources are subjective and open to interpretation. Readers are free to form their own understanding of the complex realities of governance in each country without being "guided" by Wikipedia. Utilizing Wikipedia in this manner ultimately diminishes its credibility. I strongly urge you to remove this phrase. ZeusMinerva25 (talk) 15:07, 19 March 2025 (UTC)

: "Dictatorship" is well-sourced by a variety of reliable sources. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:11, 19 March 2025 (UTC)

::I believe the description of the form of government should be kept minimal, without extra qualifications. Even qualifications from secondary sources—scholarly ones included—are often subject to interpretation and debate. It's noteworthy that this change occurred within the specific political and geopolitical context we find ourselves in. I would like to reiterate my disagreement. Grammar in 2nd paragraph

Should read "were ruled by" instead of "was ruled by" in the beginning of the 2nd paragraph of the article. Bodyslam9000 (talk) 20:23, 30 April 2025 (UTC)

Replace "Unitary semi-presidential republic under a dictatorship" with "Unitary presidential republic under an authoritarian dictatorship", as Belarus is a presidential republic, not semi-presidential (according to the Constitution of Belarus), and it is an authoritarian dictatorship. How this has been overlooked all this time is crazy. If I was an extended-confirmed Wikipedian, I would have already changed it by now! Sickminecraft45 (talk) 05:56, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

:{{Not done}}: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. The constitution of Belarus states that the cabinet is responsible to parliament and can be forced to resign through a vote of no confidence, making it a semi-presidential republic. "Authoritarian dictatorship" is redundant. Day Creature (talk) 06:16, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

Unclear language, usage of "International" for accusations by anti-National/globalist orgs

The summary section accuses of present-day Belarus of having "highly centralized and authoritarian" government, while not specifying that for the predecessor liberal Belarussian SSR, which explicitly had a highly centralized and authoritarian regime. It also misuses passive voice promoting claims by anti-national, left wing NGOs as "international" (between nations) "rankings" conflating unsubstantiated accusations with empirical, uncontested realities. 49.205.251.231 (talk) 04:44, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

Kurapaty

Again. 35,000 were executed in Belarus under Stalin (not only in Kurapaty), according to NKVD archives. "250,000 killed in Kurapaty" is ridiculous, please correct. Iges04 (talk) 02:21, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
