I want to know why Bhandup is known as Bhandup?

The football club article is too specific, and that is not how wikipedia works. I suggest the generalities of the article be merged after creating a new section on say, Sports and Athletics in Bhandup

Please do not add lists of names. Wikipedia has a strict policy regarding lists. Please read the Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines page for further information. A list can be helpful but it should be organised well.

Also, authors should filter out unnecessary and redundant information and be as neutral as possible. Please do not advertise your clubs and organisations on wikipedia. This is an encyclopedia not a Yellow Pages.

About 40 years ago BHANDUP was covered with forest. About 65% of Bhandup west and 35% east of was covered under forest at that time. But as the age went on the forestry area goes on decreasing. Bhandup west has an lake named shivaji talao which is a main source of water in Bhandup in 1970's has been started decreasing every which lead to a water logging, Now in 2014 the size is just a big swimming pool where idols of Lord Ganesha was dropped every year in august or September which makes the whole lake dirty. This are some environmental issues in Bhandup west.

While in east there is less forest area and more the salt deposition area about 45% of Bhandup east is covered with salt deposition but, since the year 2000 there area of salt deposition became less and new building started arising which lead to scarcity of salt deposition.
