Career Start Date

The first part of the Career section needs attention. It suggests that he got a recording contract at the age of 17, but according to his birth date, his first album came out when he was 25. It seems unlikely that it took him 8 years to record the first album. See also [http://www.cmt.com/artists/az/shelton_blake/bio.jhtml], which would suggest otherwise.--Camulod 01:59, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Executive Producer

Do we want to include that <> (Heavy.com, Google had other links too.)

Homophobia Allegations

The recent allegations and media coverage are relevant, for a period of a few months at least, and removal of entire chunks should really be backed by discussion comments. Depending on the narrative arc of the story, it's unlikely to be there long-term. Marty jar (talk) 11:50, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

N.B. AGAIN can people follow basic Wikipedia guidelines by using the Discussion Section should there be any dispute in which you're removing large sections of text. Marty jar (talk) 20:35, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Next single

On Blake's main YouTube/Vevo account, in the description it says "Blake Shelton's new song 'Savior's Shadow' from his upcoming album, If I'm Honest."{{cite web|url = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzOtx5L0VxY|title = Blake Shelton - Savior's Shadow (Official Audio) - YouTube|access-date = April 21, 2016|date = April 11, 2016|work = YouTube}} It impacted Christian radio on April 12, 2016, according to AllAccess, but I cannot get a proper reference due to the CCM division of AllAccess not showing future releases for singles, and I cannot archive the Cool New Music section due to the Wayback Machine's saying my AllAccess account is disabled. ilovemusic (Talk To Me!) 15:32, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

Country in lead

{{rfc top|Unanimous for including country. There is opposition to "singer-songwriter" (with no one clearly defending it). That precise wording after "country" can be decided through discussion. Galobtter (pingó mió) 16:04, 2 January 2018 (UTC)}}

Should the lead say "country singer-songwriter" or just "singer-songwriter"? A discussion on MOS:BLP has ruled that whether or not to include genre in the lead should be decided on a case by case situation. JDDJS (talk) 22:02, 21 November 2017 (UTC)

  • Country singer-songwriter - As I noted on the RfC for [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk%3ATim_McGraw&diff=cur&oldid=prev Tim McGraw], the only genre of music he produces is country so we should note country singer-songwriter. Meatsgains (talk) 03:27, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
  • Country singer-songwriter - As I, too, noted on the Rfc for Tim McGraw,Horst59 (talk) 23:26, 24 November 2017 (UTC) quick look across various country music singers shows there is not really a standard practice. Neither is particularly wrong; however, the word country adds precision.
  • Country This is one of the cases where the "case by case" result appears clear to me. Collect (talk) 13:05, 26 November 2017 (UTC)
  • Country music singer – or pipe it as such: country... because "American country singer" could be ambiguous. @{{u|JDDJS}}: Next time, please give the exact link to the RfC. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style/Biographies/2017_archive#Singers_genres_in_lead_sentence Here] it is, for those who may want it. --Musdan77 (talk) 19:39, 27 November 2017 (UTC)
  • Country singer-songwrite {{sbb}} Seeing as we feel the need to differentiate between singer and songwriter (I think most people don't know and care even less whether a singer also writes songs) L3X1 (distænt write) 17:22, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
  • Country singer - and no to songwriter, he's primarily known as a country singer and not a songwriter. Isaidnoway (talk) 20:48, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
  • Country per everybody above. Argento Surfer (talk) 13:40, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
  • Country singer, songwriter and television personality. Strong oppose for "singer-songwriter". That is a specific designation for a certain type of songwriter and performer. Shelton has written some of his music, but by-and-large, the songs he records are written by others -- that disqualifies him from the singer-songwriter category. -- ψλ 16:44, 25 December 2017 (UTC)
  • Country singer, given he does not right most of his songs, and does not make him a singer-songwriter by definition. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 07:08, 29 December 2017 (UTC)

How could the real Blake Shelton be married?

The real Blake Shelton has been married to the real Christina Aguilera since February 2,1994 in North Carolina! She was kidnapped in between the private ceremony and the public ceremony along with her Father and one of her brothers! 2600:6C4A:4E7F:F5DA:651A:A117:5462:BED6 (talk) 01:39, 8 April 2023 (UTC)

The first sentence of the second paragraph under the section 2011–2012: The Voice and Red River Blue states "Blake Shelton is a coach on the NBC show The Voice." I propose amending the verb in the sentence to past tense, changing the sentence to "Blake Shelton was a coach on the NBC show The Voice." He ended his tenure as a coach on The Voice following the 23rd season, ending spring 2023.
