:Bouyei language → Buyi language – Bouyei is the old French spelling used in Vietnam, and does not represent how the Buyi pronounce their own name. Nowadays Buyi is far more widely used, since that's the standard Pinyin spelling used in China, where almost all speakers are located. — Stevey7788 (talk) 07:04, 20 May 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose without further evidence. I feel neither particularly old nor French, and Bouyei remains the common spelling I see. The sources for the article largely use this spelling; check out the English-language references [https://web.archive.org/web/20120717135433/http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=pcc here.] The Bouyei call themselves Buxqyaix and their own language Haausqyaix, neither of which particularly resembles Buyi. — AjaxSmack 17:13, 20 May 2018 (UTC)
