Career Quotes
Quotes:
- CBS News' Bob Schieffer called the Cook Political Report "the bible of the political community."
- The New York Times has called Cook "one of the best political handicappers in the nation" and has said the Cook Political Report is "a newsletter which both parties regard as authoritative."
- David Broder wrote in The Washington Post that Cook was "perhaps the best non-partisan tracker of Congressional races."
I have marked these as {{tlx|cn}} and indeed the whole section as {{tlx|unreferenced section}}. They have probably been lifted straight from Cook's own CV, and indeed a Google Search does bring up those quotes but always as background information for Cook for speaker notes when he is a speaker at some event (i.e. will have been either supplied by Cook himself, or indirectly by being taken from this Wikipedia page.)
I have damped down the bio generally (e.g. the Family Life section; the article is not about his father, who if notable should have a separate article – and we don't need to know where his sisters live).
There is a triad of articles with the The Cook Political Report and Cook_Partisan_Voting_Index which contain much that seems to be WP:PROMO, although written impartially. 82.22.227.170 Si Trew (talk) 08:15, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
External links modified
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to {{plural:1|one external link|1 external links}} on Charlie Cook. Please take a moment to review [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=prev&oldid=700757812 my edit]. If necessary, add {{tlx|cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{tlx|nobots|deny{{=}}InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20090703054258/http://cityofwinnfield.com:80/museum.html to http://www.cityofwinnfield.com/museum.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.
