Käpernick is a German surname
file:Käpernick.jpg, 1881]]
Käpernick (Kaepernick when no ä available) is a German surname (as is Koppernigk). German language Wikipedia has a couple of articles. :de:Fritz Käpernick (1857-1887) was probably one of the first professional athletes, doing speed races as well as running long distances, eg. Berlin to Vienna. :de:Harald Käpernick (born 1962) is a former pro soccer player for Blau-Weiß 1890 Berlin. 2003:C6:3715:2FEB:B920:E66A:5DAE:C015 (talk) 07:06, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
:Interesting. You could add these guys to Wikipedia:Requested articles and hope a German speaker translates them for English Wikipedia. Commander Keane (talk) 09:06, 30 October 2024 (UTC)

It says Colin kapernick became a free agent and nobody signed him. It should really be written like this...( After Colin kapernick opted out of his players option on his contract, he became a free agent and remained unsigned.) 35.33.226.5 (talk) 17:13, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
:{{not done}}: It says as much in the body.—Bagumba (talk) 17:45, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
Remove “former”
Kaepernick is still working out to get back into the NFL. He just had a private work out with I belivie the Raiders about two seasons ago. There is no reason for it to say “former”. Right? Hwaikdoviwbwwko (talk) 11:07, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
:The last discussion on this was at {{section link|Talk:Colin_Kaepernick/Archive_1%23Shouldn't_it_say_%22former%22}}. —Bagumba (talk) 14:47, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
:He hasn't played in nine years, generally the rule is that if a player remains unsigned for two or more years they go from "free agent" to "former". Even if we're counting the Raiders workout from 2022, he's still done nothing for about three years. Former is correct. RickStrate2029 (talk) 18:52, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
