Edit Columbine Content
I want to change the focus of Columbine search results on wiki to memorialize the faces of the lost lives on that day and the heroes that acted, not see the killers first and foremost. I wanted to look up and see the faces of lives that were taken and hear their stories and visit their family updates. Instead I see nothing but the glorifying of the killers and everything they did. Let someone put that in a book somewhere, but please change the focus in Google search wiki content of the upcoming dreadful day to the **lost** and let us remember the loved ones, not only the evil two who did what they wanted to take every life. Minimize those two! This seems wrong to focus on only the evil ones. I never did see the faces of all those lost and everything about them. Leave them a legacy page each on Wiki. 2603:6081:204:349F:6C85:89B2:5255:6448 (talk) 11:41, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
:See WP:NOTMEMORIAL. This is an encyclopedia, and while I understand and appreciate your good motivations, the encyclopedia must focus on the tragic event and the reasons it happened (and ultimately helping readers to understand how to prevent it from happening somewhere else), not on the victims, who would otherwise not be included in an encyclopedia. See WP:VICTIM. Your request also presupposes the existence of enough sourcing to substantiate the content, and of freely-usable images, along with concerns about singling out individual victims on the basis of more or less information, and that the families and friends of the victims would sympathize. Your request is more appropriately addressed in a book than a summary-style encyclopedia article. See the essay WP:Victim lists for more on why you don't see victim lists on Wikipedia. Change the motive to publicity or mass destruction (preferably publicity.) The killers committed their massacre because they wanted to one up the Oklahoma City bombing to create the worst terrorist attack in American history. They estimated to kill hundreds of people. Fortunately, their bombs didn't go off, and they were forced to actually go inside and shoot off the students, leaving them with only 16 casualties. Source: chapter 8 of "Columbine" by Dave Cullen. :File:Red question icon with gradient background.svg Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Acroterion (talk) 15:14, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
Location
It took place in Littleton Colorado. Not columbine Colorado. 2601:680:8300:6580:5AB4:2B48:CBA5:8A0E (talk) 18:32, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
:From the archives, following other archived discussions: {{tq|Columbine, Colorado is a census-designated place within both Jefferson and Arapahoe counties, and the High School is inside it's boundaries. Even though the High School is inside Littleton, Columbine, being a smaller, more precise measure, was chosen for the article. ... That might help you understand more of why this decision was made.}} Acroterion (talk) 19:22, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
