There are plenty of interactions between combinatorics and physics, but the examples on this page do not reflect this at all. Instead, they seem to be shameless self-promotion by certain scientists of their own narrow area of speciality. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.250.0.101 (talk) 03:08, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

If the "shameless self-promotion" of the previous comment was replaced by something more neutral like "idiosyncratic selections" I would completely agree with the previous comment even though it is also my own area of expertise. Who is to say what the reasons are, it might be shameless self-promotion, it might be ignorance, will-full blinkered ignorance of an experienced researcher who should known better, or naive ignorance of a beginner, or it might be someone who put in their favorite examples and assumed that someone else would fill in other examples. However, the problem remains that this article does not even begin to capture the interactions between combinatorics and physics more broadly. A look at recent articles in [https://www.ems-ph.org/journals/journal.php?jrn=aihpd] gives a somewhat broader sense of the area, but still does not, I would say, capture all the important connections. 2003:CC:CF22:52A9:BDC5:9BAC:A977:2065 (talk) 09:16, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
