The reference to 'National Defense Dept.' is not clear to me.

They answer to the Minister of National Defence (with a "C" ;) )

As I understood it the actual name is CSE:National Defense. That's what I have seen CSE called on their collective agreements when I worked at a federal labour law library. Dan Carkner

They're still in the Sir Leonard Tilley Building, not the Sir Edward Drake building (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECHELON). However, they are slowly moving (expanding) back into the SED.

Maybe a part of the Canadian part of ECHELON could be incorporated here? They're a little off with some of the numbers, though. As for the source of the 1600+ staff, see http://www.hrma-agrh.gc.ca/pas-srp/report-rapport_e.asp?cat=f

The press kit (http://www.cse-cst.gc.ca/documents/media-room/media-kit.pdf) gives 2004 numbers at 1200 people, budget of almost $200CAD, almost double the $110CAD stated in the ECHELON page.

The biannual Ottawa Artsfest is also the only way I know of that a person can gain access to the building and at least walk through the halls. This is quite a treat, since in 2004, they had a Cray MP in one of the foyers, and in 2006, a Cray X-MP/24 (like the Y-MP but with dark blue instead of red panels).

I don't really know what kind of information should go into the CSE page, but I've been there (2004, 2006) and I have a friend who works there.

The facilities section appears to be out of date and in need of a rewrite. In particular, it seems that CSE no longer occupies either the Sir Leonard Tilley Building or 1500 Bronson Ave (also once called the Edward Drake Building, confusingly) at the Confederation Heights campus ever since they moved into their new headquarters on Ogilvie Road. Moreover, their current headquarters, the (new) Edward Drake Building might be deserving of its own article. PeregrineFlight (talk) 19:35, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

In recent years in southern BC the telephone systems operators have been repeatedly advised of cell phone hacking by org. crime. when the RCMP was asked to refer the matter to CSE, the officer refused and due to vast and layers of intense corruption in the RCMP due to drugs, infiltration etc. the RCMP failed even make the minimal effort to assist those who were making the complaints. in Obamas version of reality, org. crime can't use judges, crown attorney, police etc. cell phone hacking by security forces to defeat the law? opinions welcome184.70.114.90 (talk) 20:44, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

The portuguese link of this page is being directed to a soccer club and not to "Communications Security Establishment" which would be the correct portuguese version of the page. It is being redirected (wrongly) to "Clube Sociedade Esportiva". Can anyone correct this? I noticed that the official shield does not exactly match the English translation, that is, I think it would be better if the shield read "informationem" rather than "nuntium." I think "nuntium" is more like "announcement." You might like to pass that on to the agency, as presumptuous as it may seem.

Of course, the shield was probably designed by an expert in Latin...
