I feel like we need to add the background

A background of the concept and all the definitions of it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.182.98.201 (talk) 14:35, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

Proposed merge with [[Ethical corporate social responsibility]]

Stub article may be appropriate as a section within the main article on the topic. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 13:38, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Debate of Ethical Ideologies of CSR with CEOs

Hi Wikipedia, I am planning on discussing the debate of Ethical Ideologies of CSR with CEOs in "Criticisms and Concerns" section.

I will also add content to brand differentiation and human resources under "Potential Benefits" Please let me know if you have any comments.Oliverk25 (talk) 14:12, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Negative impact of corporate psychopathy

This section seems somewhat biased. It seems to presume all corporate employees are psychopaths, and thus creates an argument that CSR is illogical because all corporate operators are psychopaths. I'm not certain that it has a large enough impact on CSR. I'd like to recommend it be removed, or expanded upon with less biased language. CPfiffer (talk) 06:46, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

Restoration of article on [[Corporate responsibility]]

The merger of the Corporate responsibility article with this article on Corporate Social Responsibility in September 2007 failed to take account of aspects of companies' responsibilities for good governance, accountability to shareholders, legal compliance, maintaining their own long term business sustainability etc which operate alongside companies' wider responsibilities for the social, economic and environmental impact of their business activities. For example, the CFO and CEO's responsibility for the accuracy and compliance of their reports to shareholders may be referred to as "corporate responsibility": see https://www.sarbanes-oxley-101.com/SOX-302.htm for example: SOX Section 302: Corporate Responsibility for Financial Reports and Sarbanes–Oxley Act#Major elements. I am therefore proposing to restore Corporate responsibility as a separate article. BobKilcoyne (talk) 04:06, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

Need to add balance

This edit was reverted but presents much needed balance to the article, after all the documentary was internationally awarded, and even had a sequel, so this is not a fringe view:

Joel Bakan, the University of British Columbia professor and author of the award-winning book The Corporation: The Pathological Pursuit of Profit and Power, writes:

{{quote|The law forbids any motivation for their actions, whether to assist workers, improve the environment, or help consumers save money. They can do these things with their own money, as private citizens. As corporate officials, however, stewards of other people’s money, they have no legal authority to pursue such goals as ends in themselves – only as means to serve the corporations own interests, which generally means to maximize the wealth of its shareholders. Corporate social responsibility is thus illegal – at least when its genuine.|Joel Bakan, The Corporation: The Pathological Pursuit of Profit and Power Bakan, The Corporation, Constable, 2004, p.37}} Magonz (talk) 19:58, 26 April 2021 (UTC)

Needs section on outsourcing

This article needs a section on outsourcing of CSR, see e.g. [https://givingcompass.org/article/corporate-social-responsibility-is-the-next-outsourcing-trend] Agnerf (talk) 09:21, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
