Just for our knowledge as editors and not for inclusion in the article, this is a [https://ibb.co/icrTXG screenshot of the email]. He has confirmed for me that they recorded most of this song in 1993. If Mr. Brathwaite contributed to an official interview independent of our conservation, it would be nice if he cleared this up. This article needs copy editing because at this point, it is absolutely not up to GA quality. Some choice quotes upon scanning the article:

Not to insult whoever wrote this because it's not the worst thing I've read, but I think it's clear English is not your first language. Some lines could be improved by taking just one or two words out (for instance, if the song is "declared" something, we don't need to say "[critic] declared it as") and some just need to be rewritten entirely. I can see that even in April 2017 when the page was promoted to good article status, some of these lines were intact. I think in future, there needs to be more thorough grammatical checking on good articles like this. This is honestly just the tip of the iceberg. Ss112 14:51, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

{{ping|Beyoncetan}} I did copy edit, but I feel the article has some content issues. A few notes:

• First off, there was an awful lot of WP:OVERLINKING. There's really no reason to link common things like album, concert, film, television, Europe, heart, brain, etc., or to give three Grammy Award links in one sentence. This doesn't serve the reader. Also, linking should not be used in place of emphasis. Try to give specific links that the reader is more likely to find useful.
• Secondly, I feel like this article has way too many quotes. Some illustrative quotes are okay to convey specific points. However, Wikipedia uses summary style and prefers that editors phrase material in their own words.
• There were some inline quotes in the 50–80 word range which I put in a block quotes. The threshold for block quotes is generally 40 words. The little side quote boxes are no longer recommended due to accessibility issues (MOS:BQ). Editors might alternatively consider paraphrasing or paring down the quotes to only what is necessary to convey the essential information.
• The section Musical stye and composition has a lot of short descriptive quotes about the music. I don't especially like this given in Wikipedia's voice and feel it might be better to give some inline attribution on these opinions. (eg: according to X...)
• There may also be a bit too much trivia, like their wardrobe choices on concert tours. If you get rid of some of the extraneous content and quotes, the prose could be tightened up considerably.
• {{tq|he gave up the idea of the girls wearing the silk pajamas}}. I'm not sure what this means. To "give up" usually means to quit or concede, to stop making an effort and resign to failure, but I'm not getting this sense from the context. What if this was "put forward the idea"? Or even simpler, "suggested"? (Simpler is usually better for plain English).

• There are two people named Reid in the credits, so be sure it is clear which person is referred to when only the surname Reid is used (ie: in section Background and development).

Judging by many of my previous posts and contributions to this article, it is very telling that many of the people who frequent here are deliberately dismissive of it all. Well, I have the 1993 demo version of Creep, individual multitracking, and instrumentals, all created prior to being decided as the lead single in April 1994 by LA Reid. I am not going to share any of them here via any links, because naturally I do not trust anyone faceless nor am I too motivated by the utter disregard for previous information I have provided. In that respect, I am simply reconfirming Creep was recorded and produced between December 1993 and March 1994. The demo does not have a spoken intro like the LP version, is a little more uptempo and is much shorter. Has a run time of 3:10 versus 4:31 and some adlibs. I have a concern about the genre of this song. It says R&B but if you're a hip-hop head you'd know that this is a hip hop soul song as it samples 'Hey Young World' by Slick Rick.
