Title?

As Levy is less well known as a chess player than as an AI researcher / pundit, I'd suggest a change of title. David Levy (AI researcher)? 80.2.210.118 (talk) 14:15, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

:Is that really true? He authored a number of chess books in the 1970s. At least early on, his main AI notabiliy was with respect to chess (chess computers and his famous bet). So I think "David Levy (chess player)" is appropriate. Peter Ballard (talk) 01:05, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

::I don't see anything wrong with naming him as a Chess Player, after all his work in AI seems to have derived from that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ZincBelief (talkcontribs) 13:42, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

sentences/paragraphs

The article has too many one sentence paragraphs.

It needs to be rewritten. Bubba73 (talk), 07:56, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

English or Scottish?

As a player, Levy has since 1968 played for Scotland. Is there some reason why he is described as English in this article? Bruce leverett (talk) 04:25, 21 August 2023 (UTC)

Short description is too long

The short description is too long. The test for this is as follows: In the Wikipedia search box, start typing "David Levy (chess player)". A list of article titles will appear, each of which starts with the letters you have typed so far; and under each title, the Short Description of that article will appear. If the short description gets truncated, it is too long, because it's not serving its purpose. Right now, as I do this experiment on my home computer, the short description gets truncated after the digit "1" of "1945". I will wait for the person who made the last change to fix this, but if that doesn't happen after a while, I will fix it myself. Bruce leverett (talk) 00:30, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
