No known birth date and place for D. W. ?
Why ? Is there no such registration in the UK or was he a foundling (of whom no one knew both data exactly). Somewhat awkward, for he was a person british or english bureaucracy obviously dealt with. --2001:A61:2B09:B901:8C4B:2EE8:D006:7242 (talk) 14:21, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
Merge proposal
I think this article should be merged with Russell Pascoe into a new article Murder of William Rowe. The two articles are almost identical and focus entirely on the murder, which is clearly the notable thing here, not the two men, of whom the articles say virtually nothing. This would conform with Murder of John Alan West; the incident is notable, not the perpetrators as such. Jah77 (talk) 21:00, 27 March 2025 (UTC)
:Yes, I suggested in an edit summary 12 years ago that I would get around to doing exactly that, but it seems I never found the time. I totally support a merger in the manner described. Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:14, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
:Is this even notable per WP:NEVENT? I would not think so. The claim to notability is not really the murder, more that they were executed. PARAKANYAA (talk) 01:47, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
::Easily meets WP:GNG, and was widely covered in the news at the time. Bretonbanquet (talk) 01:53, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
:::It does not pass GNG because all of the sources are primary news reports. In lieu of that it must pass NEVENT. It does not seem to. Many things are covered in the news for some time which doesn't mean notability. PARAKANYAA (talk) 19:41, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
::::The Mudd book isn't a primary news report. Bretonbanquet (talk) 22:12, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
::As you mentioned yourself, the case is notable because it led to some of the last executions in Britain, just like the Murder of John Alan West. The article(s) may have issues with sourcing, but I see no reason to question its notability. Jah77 (talk) 09:37, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
:::If the execution is what's notable then it should be an article on the executions, not the murder. PARAKANYAA (talk) 23:38, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
::::The crime is notable because it led to the executions. See the example above. Jah77 (talk) 09:03, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
