Pharmacology
Articles indicate that desflurane undergoes negligible metabolism, which is perhaps more correct than stating that this drug is not metabolized. This is of particular importance when considering hepatotoxicity. [http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8989020 Njoku D et.al.] state that desflurane undergoes biotransformation when exposed to hepatic cytochrome P450, rendering metabolites that can trigger immunologic hepatitis in patients; such a case is described by [http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/hep.510290211/references Berghaus et.al.] Baitisj (talk) 02:13, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
