Devternity used AI to generate fake female speakers
I am not a wikipedia editor, but I want to bring this to your attention:

Perhaps the wikipedia article about devternity should include some information about this.

:See the
The conference is not connected to Latvia or a nonprofit any more
Although I am no editor, the article starts by stating "DevTernity is Latvia's largest international software development conference with an emphasis on software architecture, development best practices and technical leadership. Established in 2015 by the leaders of a non-profit Latvian Software Craftsmanship Community..."
However, this is no longer true? The conference is held online, not in Latvia, from 2021: https://x.com/devternity/status/1418174280983060483?s=20 Also, I cannot find any connection to the non-profit Latvian Software Craftsmanship Community, nor find evidence that the conference has active connections with this group.
I suggest deleting both claims unless evidence can be found on active connection with Latvia or this nonprofit. 84.32.71.2 (talk) 09:03, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
:+1 to deleting unsourced claims with prejudice, especially those added by a connected contributor. be WP:BOLD and go for it, even if you're editing from an IP! lizthegrey (talk) 09:19, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
:Thanks, [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/84.32.71.0/24 IP editor from 84.32.71.0/24], much appreciated. I would thank you on your talk page, but you bounce IPs due to some kind of NAT. I've taken the liberty of cleaning up your formatting, as per MOS:CITEPUNCT but otherwise it looks good and I've removed the cleanup tags that you've addressed. lizthegrey (talk) 22:09, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
:The part about "the leaders of a non-profit Latvian Software Craftsmanship Community" was true. Just look at the founder information https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/latvian-software-craftsmanship-community 2A03:EC00:B9A8:2151:E40E:EED8:46FA:5 (talk) 15:00, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
::That doesn't necessarily mean it's WP:DUE to cite the Craftmanship Community as the creator when there's no indication the nonprofit has officially endorsed the conference etc. Naming the creator, then saying they were a leader of the non-profit, is probably more DUE. Especially given that the conference is a for-profit conference, it would be misleading to suggest that it is affiliated with a non-profit. lizthegrey (talk) 19:07, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
