Discrepancy
Rolling Stone stated that Eddie played piano and Alex sax in the Broken Combs https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/eddie-van-halen-tribute-1081034/ The wikipedia article currently states that Eddie played guitar. Please double check. Also other facts about their early bands seem twisted or missing. Trojan Rubber Company? Locked door??
So, the deletopedias removed a couple of my edits. But they leave stuff in that makes no sense. "According to him, as a teen he often practiced while walking around at home with his guitar strapped on, or sitting in his room for hours with the door locked." The sources cited do not say he was in his room. And there's no mention of any locked door in them either. It would also not make sense since the house had 2 bedrooms. One for the parents and one the boys shared. So it'd be "their" bedroom and no lock. That also matches the souces cited that say Alex left to go partying and would find Ed sitting on the same spot on the bed when he returned. Kindly check and correct. 108.204.18.240 (talk) 14:30, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
On Van Halen being bullied
An editor keeps removing this line from the article: "Since Alex and Eddie did not speak English as a first language, they were considered "minority" students and experienced bullying by white students." The line has a citation to this article [https://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-america/eddie-van-halen-endured-horrifying-racist-environment-becoming-rock-legend-n1242663|this article.] That article in turn link to this [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yb26D8bBZB8&ab_channel=Z%C3%B3caloPublicSquare|YouTube interview with Eddie] where he states at around the 50 minute mark, "But you know it was actually the white people that were the bullies, you know? They would tear up my homework papers, make me eat playground sand, and all these things ...".
This seems to be clear support of the disputed text. If the other editor disagrees with something else or how it's worded then I'm sure we can work that out. SQGibbon (talk) 21:53, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
Not dead?
This looks like a very outdated and sketchy article. Louis Lemieux (talk) 15:44, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
:Hey Louis Lemieux the article mentions his death several times throughout. Is there something specific that leads you to call it "very outdated" and "sketchy"? SQGibbon (talk) 23:20, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
