Notability

Earlier today I tagged this article with {{tl|notability}}, and a few hours later, {{user|Myxomatosis57}} removed this tag stating: [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Elite_(song)&oldid=561113797&diff=prev It qualifies the eighth criteria: "Has won or been nominated for a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis award." The song won a Grammy; thus is notable."] I believe he meant second criteria — being nominated for a Grammy is the 8th criteria for a band, but second criteria for a song at WP:NMUSIC. However, simply winning a Grammy award is not enough to satisfy notability guidelines. This award criteria is clearly preceded with: "The following factors suggest that a song or single may be notable, though a standalone article should still satisfy the aforementioned criteria" and "Notability aside, a standalone article is only appropriate when there is enough material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; articles unlikely ever to grow beyond stubs should be merged to articles about an artist or album." Since "Elite" was never released as a single, it never received radio play, there was never a music video or any real promotion for the song, I really don't see how this article could grow beyond the two sentences that currently exist here now. I thought I would put the notability tag up now to see if interested parties wanted to attempt to expand the article before taking up the PROD or AFD route. Fezmar9 (talk) 21:37, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
