Potential hazards of enzymes
Enzymes are increasingly being used in household products - even food additives. Couldn't find mention in either this article or 'Industrial Enzymes' about potential hazards (whack me with a trout if I'm wrong). A quick look at what's online: Old Guardian article "[https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2016/sep/21/enzymes-used-in-cleaning-products-and-food-are-potent-allergens-warns-study Enzymes used in cleaning products and food 'are potent allergens']". And [https://oem.bmj.com/content/74/1/39 this paper] found that "Twenty-three per cent of all exposed workers showed type I sensitisation with IgE antibodies directed against respective workplace-specific enzymes". The EU's [https://amfep.org/_library/_files/hazard-classification-of-industrial-enzymes.pdf Hazard classification of industrial enzymes]. Also found mention of an aerosol spray producing concentrations in air about 12 times recommended levels.
I've not the time right now - but could try in a few months to do up something - so please leave comments. 58.110.44.246 (talk) 13:56, 15 November 2024 (UTC)

I was curious how many attribution problems may have happened in [https://www.medpulse.in/Biochemistry/html_13_1_4.php this] ([https://copyvios.toolforge.org/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&title=Enzyme&oldid=&use_engine=0&use_links=0&turnitin=0&action=compare&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.medpulse.in%2FBiochemistry%2Fhtml_13_1_4.php copyvio report]) published, potential copyvio with the who wrote that extension, so there's that...
If you were wondering, yes, I already submitted a comment to PubPeer, and no, CC-BY-NC and CC-BY-SA are not compatible. ⸺(Random)staplers 07:07, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
:* BTW, if any listed users want to take this further, (and only the listed users can do this) you will have to list the paper as a mirror on Wikipedia:Mirrors and forks#How to list new mirrors.

::* Moderated... well, I'm not really surprised, given the potential legal trouble here. I'll leave it to you, @DMacks. ⸺(Random)staplers 06:27, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
::*:Looks like PubPeer has a special procedure for copyvios. See the [https://pubpeer.com/static/faq#22 FAQ], and [https://pubpeer.com/static/tos DMCA]. Probably explains the moderation, so in addition to WP:MIRRORS, you all know where to go from here...
::*:Well, that's definitely it for me. ⸺(Random)staplers 06:43, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
::*::* For future reference: I created an essay in case this happens again.
Etymology of apoprotein and apoenzyme, please
I suspect that apo- is doing a lot of work and, if that work could be lampshaded adequately, at least its vague outlines would be a lot more accessible to non-specialists.
