[[Sḵwxwú7mesh]] History

This pages needs added Sḵwxwú7mesh (the Indigenous peoples) history. It doesn't mention anything about the False Creek area, which, prior to contact, was a massive village site for thousands of Indigenous people. OldManRivers 12:15, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

: So add it. It seems obvious that this would be a good thing. Tim Bray (talk) 08:27, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

POV and OR

It appears there is a lot of original research and POV language throughout the article. I've tagged it for now, with the hope that I have time to return later. But hopefully others can chime in and help clean it up as well. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 15:02, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Name origin?

So Richards named it False Creek, but why? What reason did he have for naming it that? Nutster (talk) 11:52, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

Indigenous name

Hi, I'm about to remove the statement that the Indigenous name for False Creek was Snauq. There's an obvious conflict with Senakw. There's a citation from Lee Maracle's "Goodbye Snauq", but that is a work of fiction. In a 2018 interview Maracle says "He's from Snauq which is a village of the Squamish territory".{{cite web |last1=Goodman |first1=John |title=Conversation with Lee Maracle |url=https://www.nsnews.com/entertainment/dossier/conversation-with-lee-maracle-1.23283849 |website=North Shore News |accessdate=30 October 2020}} I know that this is OR but Native people have told me that they don't know of any evidence for False Creek having an indigenous name as such.Tim Bray (talk) 18:26, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
