Net worth
I see that in 2006, Forbes ranked Castro as #7 on a list richest heads of state. May we mention this? I do not wish to bother if it has already been edited out. [https://www.forbes.com/2006/05/04/rich-kings-dictators_cz_lk_0504royals.html#23fd0c7c10f9]
"dictator, marxist" in opening sentence?
I ask {{u|YMVD}} to discuss their desired changes to the opening sentence here rather than edit warring. Per policy, {{tq|The responsibility for achieving consensus for inclusion is on those seeking to include disputed content.}} Generalrelative (talk) 03:55, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
:Yes I think the word “dictator” should be included in the opening sentence. 2600:1006:A12A:C35E:9970:D6FA:6AD6:529E (talk) 14:44, 19 January 2025 (UTC)

in the introduction it says that Castro's Government "Advanced Economic and Social Justice"
this does not make sense and just sounds kind of wrong, would suggest changing it his government made "Economic and Social Justice Advancements" Redjarvis (talk) 18:45, 12 August 2024 (UTC)

Article length
As stated at the top of the page, this article is over 19,000 words and the largest good article that Wikipedia has. This makes it hard for the mildy-interested reader to navigate the page and read the most important information about Castro's life. WP:TOOBIG states that articles over 15,000 words "almost certainly should be divided or trimmed" and Wikipedia has many articles on large topics that are able to have a lower article size, such as Earth, Philosophy, and George Washington.
Some places that I think can be cut:
- "Lifestyle": Most of this information is unencyclopedic and too detailed.
- "Personality": Same as Lifestyle
- "Consolidating leadership: 1959" and "Bay of Pigs Invasion and "Socialist Cuba": 1961–1962": for a short time period, this has a lot of information. Can some of this information go to the articles mentioned in "Main article" and "See also"?
- Skimming through the article, I think there are lots of places with redundancy and excess words that could be cut for succinctness.
If this article's prose size was reduced, it would be a lot closer to becoming a featured article, and I think it would be popular if it was today's featured article. What are editor thoughts on reducing the article's word count? Z1720 (talk) 13:25, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
