How about some ranking related info regarding the b-school? I know it's a very solid school (as I received an MS from there) and this page should have some type of quantifiable data to reflect that.

:Well I remember looking at the rankings a year or two ago, and it wasn't in the top 50 of any list, nor was it ranked int he top regional b-schools of any list. If you can find a bona fide ranking, then sure. MBisanz ^talk 19:31, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Well, I have an MS-Finance from Zarb ('03) and I am presently working on an MS-Quantitative Finance from Zarb. We know the school has strong alumni support, top-notch facilities, strong faculty and a solid, diverse student body. Here is a link to a book that I have that ranks 68 b-schools into 3 categories; Distinguished, outstanding and recommended programs. Hofstra is listed under outstanding programs. Check it out. :Hi MBisanz. I got your message asking me to look at this, since you feel that you would have a COI inserting it yourself. My first thought is that a number of these business school articles have the flavor of advertising. However the paragraph over at Harvard Business School#Rankings looks like a good attempt. It includes rankings from several places, and it manages to work in some sourced criticism of the school as well. I realize it would be a lot of work, but do you think you guys could come up with a paragraph for Hofstra that is as well-balanced as the one for HBS? Surely Hofstra is rated by the same services as those that scored Harvard. I haven't heard of this Arco guide, and merely saying Hofstra is 'Outstanding' doesn't tell us exactly where they fell (top 20? top 5?). EdJohnston (talk) 05:00, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

I know Hofstra is somewhere in the top 500 based on it being AACSB accreditted but its not in Princeton Review's top 290 [http://www.princetonreview.com/mba/research/profiles/schoolsays.asp?category=1&listing=1011023<ID=2&intbucketid=], its not in these top 50 [http://www.bus.indiana.edu/ardennis/rankings/rank2001.htm], its not in this meta-table [http://www.bschool.com/ussbys.html], not in Business week [http://bwnt.businessweek.com/bschools/undergraduate/06rankings/] [http://www.businessweek.com/bschools/rankings/index.html], according to USNews (I have an account), their unranked [http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/grad/directory/dir-mba/premium/glanc_01151.php], Forbes is also unranked [http://www.forbes.com/2003/09/24/bschooland.html]. So other than a string of "It is unranked by X, Y, Z, Q, P, and rated outstanding by A, I don't think there is any hope of coming close to Harvard's level. :It sounds to me that you might be able to craft a paragraph that admitted they weren't ranked by the majors, but still have virtues. (Sourced virtues, of course). To include only Arco, without mentioning the other facts you just stated sounds a bit unbalanced. Why don't you go ahead and propose some language here, and I'll take one final look?
