Inert gas inhalation

I don't know how relevant that section is to this article. The nitrogen execution was carried out through a mask and not through a gas chamber. It may have some relevance because a gas chamber is a possible way to carry it out, but it's not the way it's done. At least it should be specified that Kenneth Smith's execution was not done in a gas chamber.--SRuizR File:Flag of Costa Rica.svg 00:28, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

Edit Request: "Invasion of Russia" to "Invasion of the Soviet Union"

It is well known that the Germans invaded the USSR beyond just the Russian SFSR. The sentence in question is regarding the use of gas vans during Barbarossa. Gas vans were used by the four main Einsatzgruppen, and the following source names them as present in Riga. I believe this small but significant change is important for historical accuracy. 2001:569:5186:6800:4C75:CE9F:4AF1:3F33 (talk) 00:01, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

:{{done}} Thanks for that, I agree it should say Soviet Union. AusLondonder (talk) 01:51, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

Extended-confirmed-protected edit request: Gas chambers used in animal slaughter

Gas chambers are in widespread use today as part of the slaughtering process of farmed animals. That information seems to be missing and is relevant. Can someone review and add this suggested addition?

Today, gas chambers are still used at scale in the slaughter process of pigs and chickens. This approach allows small groups to be gassed instead of individually as is the case with other stunning methods. The high concentration CO2 gas typically used is highly aversive and painful however[A], and still takes at least 30-60 seconds to stun pigs in test conditions[B][C]. In 2022 in England and Wales, 88% of pigs killed in a slaughterhouse were stunned with this high conetration CO2 method[D]. Chickens, both broiler and spent egg laying hens, are also frequently stunned in slaughterhouse gas chambers, though with a lower CO2 mixure.

In 2022 in England and Wales, 88% of pigs and over 80% of chickens killed in a slaughterhouse were stunned in gas chambers [D].

Change "The gas is visible to the condemned, who" to "The condemned". Hydrogen cyanide is a colorless gas,[https://wwwn.cdc.gov/TSP/MMG/MMGDetails.aspx?mmgid=1141&toxid=249] so it would be invisible. That334 (talk) 19:24, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Mississippi

Mississippi does not have the gas chamber as a secondary method, it has nitrogen hypoxia. Since it does not currently have the gas chamber codified in law, should the colour of Mississippi on the map be changed to green? Egg470 (talk) 01:58, 17 May 2025 (UTC)

:How is it administered? Slatersteven (talk) 11:57, 17 May 2025 (UTC)

::Nitrogen is administered through a mask, not in a sealed chamber Egg470 (talk) 14:21, 17 May 2025 (UTC)

:::If nitrogen hypoxia were to count as a gas chamber execution, then we would have to change the colours of Alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma to yellow Egg470 (talk) 16:18, 17 May 2025 (UTC)

:::OK so if we do not have RS saying they still have gas chambers, we can remove it. Slatersteven (talk) 11:37, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

::::Here is a link to DPIC on Mississippi. Lethal gas was removed in 1998

:::::As Im said "if we do not have RS saying they still have gas chambers, we can remove it". Slatersteven (talk) 14:17, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

::::::DPIC is a reliable source Egg470 (talk) 14:58, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

:::::::Try reading WHAT I wrote. Slatersteven (talk) 15:00, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

::::::::There are no current sources saying they retain the gas chamber. All of them list lethal injection, nitrogen hypoxia, electrocution, and firing squad.

::::::::nitrogen hypoxia is not the same as the gas chamber Egg470 (talk) 15:45, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

::::::::It seems like you are looking for a source to confirm that Mississippi no longer uses the gas chamber, and I have given you one. Why don't you go look for some yourself Egg470 (talk) 23:57, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
