List of Google Developer Experts

Declared CoI I'm a GDE. Is there any value in recording who GDEs are? There are currently ~120 GDEs on yearly tenure which can be renewed. The program started with 26 but who these were would need further research. Martin Hawksey (talk) 00:22, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

:Hi Martin, I'd suggest the list doesn't belong in the article - it's not ' (in Wikipedia terms) and isn't as relevant to the GDE as other more general information might be. The article is ok but see the tags at the top of the article - e.g. while locating a GDE is useful (and a link to that page in the 'external' section might make sense), the full list isn't encyclopaedic and feels a bit adverty. What the article could really do with is some external links independent of google; it may be that it's easier to do that on other Wikipedia:WikiProject_Google articles than this one at the moment, from a quick look for sources I can't find much at all (even google links!). Hope that doesn't discourage you from editing further, but I'd hate to see an editor use time making edits which are likely not to stick. Sjgknight (talk) 17:38, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

::Hi Simon - thanks for the feedback. I think it makes sense to drop the list (it was good though to go through the process and [https://mashe.hawksey.info/2014/11/converting-csv-or-spreadsheets-into-wikipedia-tables/ share some lessons]) ... at least until we are more ' ;) Non-google references are certainly hard to come by. I'll leave this page where it is now and look through some of the other Wikipedia:WikiProject_Google priorities. Thanks! Martin Hawksey (talk) 21:28, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
