Chemical Abstracts report: > 1 paper appearing per day

Heterogeneous catalysis is a very big area. Citations to this topic should follow WP:TERTIARY (well recognized textbooks and monographs) or at least WP:SECONDARY (reviews). Data: 13319 references (journal articles, reviews, patents, etc), of which 6600 have appeared since 2009 (6100 in English). That is more than 1 publication per day. So it is nearly impossible for any editor to select (cherry-pick) among these. Hence the guidelines WP:TERTIARY and WP:SECONDARY.--Smokefoot (talk) 10:57, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
