Sagan and the like
See http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/Nave-html/Faithpathh/galileomyth.html . Sagan said that Galileo was in a dungeon.
:See "The Sleepwalkers", published in 1959, on page 492. Koestler says, "The "formal prison" took the form of a sojourn at the Grand Duke's Villa at Trinita del Monte".
::Galileo seems to have been in an ordinary apartment for a day, before he moved to the Duke's Villa.
The starting point
I don't understand [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=History_of_astronomy&diff=prev&oldid=1171817401 this revert]. It is merely placing the context in which the study of astronomy first started, and it is referenced even if most of the things pointed are quite obvious (after all, Wikipedia:You do need to cite that the sky is blue). Which is the "opinion"? Cambalachero (talk) 00:53, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
New World astronomy
Even though Wikipedia has an article entitled Maya astronomy, there seems to be no section on New World astronomy. Kdammers (talk) 16:14, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
Editing This Article
Hello! I am an undergraduate student at Texas A&M University, and I will be editing this article as part of my Technical and Professional Editing course. I will mainly focus on any possible organizational and grammatical errors in this article. For example, I believe that several sections should not belong to this article and should be separate articles. I understand that several editors have previously worked on this article, and I want to respect their work. Please respond if you feel as if there is anything I need to know before I start working on the article. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Grace2424 (talk • contribs) 14:44, 19 February 2025 (UTC)
