Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to {{plural:2|one external link|2 external links}} on History of the Staten Island Railway. Please take a moment to review [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=prev&oldid=707085377 my edit]. If necessary, add {{tlx|cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{tlx|nobots|deny{{=}}InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Attempted to fix sourcing for http://stationreporter.net/nshore.htm
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20080820034509/http://www.nycedc.com/Web/AboutUs/OurProjects/CompletedProjects/StatenIslandRailroadReactivation.htm to http://www.nycedc.com/Web/AboutUs/OurProjects/CompletedProjects/StatenIslandRailroadReactivation.htm
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

If an external links chapter still existed, I'd add one from [http://www.trainsarefun.com/sirt/sirt.htm Trains Are Fun]. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 12:41, 3 March 2017 (UTC)

IP editor claiming family roots going back to 1655
To the editor on IP "2601:589:4E83:7B20:9564:81B9:2B3F:78F9", we are less interested in family roots than published sources.
Check [https://archive.org/details/statenislandname00davi_1/page/26/mode/2up?view=theater&q=PRINCESS this source] for some details on Prince's Bay vs. Princess Bay. Fabrickator (talk) 05:47, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
Article split
As of [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=History_of_the_Staten_Island_Railway&oldid=1258860414 this revision], the article is 18,264 words long, or almost exactly 111,000 characters of prose. Per WP:PAGESIZE, articles are typically split by the time they reach 15,000 words. Similarly to the NYC Subway history page, I propose that we split this page into three: History of the Staten Island Railway (1836–1899) (early history), History of the Staten Island Railway (1900–1970) (early and mid-20th century), and History of the Staten Island Railway (1971–present) (MTA era). – Epicgenius (talk) 01:49, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
:I think that split makes sense. Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 14:32, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
:@Kew Gardens 613, thanks for your edit [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=History_of_the_Staten_Island_Railway&curid=48722130&diff=1276225283&oldid=1274712751 here]. Given how there might be a bit more to add from the Staten Island Advance, I think it may be a good time to revisit splitting this article. I will be going on vacation soon with very limited internet access, so I won't have time to split this now, but when I come back by April, we should probably draft up plans for a split. – Epicgenius (talk) 17:50, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
::A bit more is an understatement. Agreed on drafting plans then. Enjoy your vacation. Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 22:20, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
