"Biased on selective sources"
In Special:Diff/1278347012, an editor added the phrase {{xt|"on selective sources"}} to the sentence {{xt|"Questions relate to whether its content is biased on selective sources due to the political, religious, or other ideologies its volunteer editors may adhere to"}} (emphasis added). It is not clear to me what the phrase {{xt|"on selective sources"}} is supposed to mean in the context of the sentence, as well as whether this phrase is verifiable to reliable sources. Did the original editor confuse the word biased for the word based, or is some other meaning intended here? — Newslinger talk 13:01, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
:Yes, it does read like it's meant to be based. Slatersteven (talk) 13:04, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
::I think the original phrasing {{xt|"...biased due to the..."}} is better than the phrasing {{!xt|"...based on selective sources due to the..."}}, considering that most of the article describes editor behavior and not sourcing. Any objections to restoring the original phrasing? — Newslinger talk 09:00, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
:::I think that the editor meant to say that one mechanism of the bias is (the nature of) it's selectivity of sources. That is a common criticism. IMO it would be nice to keep that in but with better wording. North8000 (talk) 13:31, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
::::@Newslinger@North8000@Slatersteven I've removed all of that as the sources are far too old. Is it backed by more recent sources in the article? Doug Weller talk 12:56, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
:What is a selective source? Do we really mean cherry picked? HiLo48 (talk) 00:20, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Serbian Wikipedia
Just added some material about political bias on the Serbian Wikipedia. Please watch out that article for srwiki POV pushers, as well. Also, don't hesitate to make corrections to the added material. 194.34.134.244 (talk) 08:18, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
