I've reinserted the deleted subsection, because existing old DS retain that status, and there are some special rules for existing DS in RFC 6410. If the IESG promotes all DS to STD in 2013-10 the section can be removed; for now it is still relevant. –82.113.99.141 (talk) 09:12, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

I recently stumbled across [http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7100 [RFC 7100]]. Perhaps this wiki page should be updated to reflect that there no longer is something like a STD 1, but rather that the dynamic list of the RFC editor is now the point of reference? 46.237.220.231 (talk) 14:54, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
