Merger proposal
I came across web threat and noticed that there are some important overlaps here, so I'm putting forth the idea of merging for discussion.
Perhaps browser security and internet security could be updated to include web threat and drive-by download (which has already been proposed to merge).--Karl.brown (talk) 21:27, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
No. The WWW and the Internet are different things with different security requirements. Combining threats would be like combining bank robbery with auto theft because of the overlap - bank robbers sometimes fleeing in stolen cars.50.136.247.190 (talk) 22:02, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
:I agree with Special contributor 50.136.247.190. Even though popular usage seems to be more frequently equating the two terms, the World Wide Web, or just the Web, and the Internet are different. Here's a good article explaining the difference [http://www.webopedia.com/DidYouKnow/Internet/Web_vs_Internet.asp] Timtempleton (talk) 00:05, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
Internet security product section
would be nice if one of you guys could add or link to synonyms (I found none under IT service company/business or IT security company/business) to the section I started today, because I know little about it. no lemma like that exists on wikipedia. this is important given the proliferation of IT service companies with security focus (be it crime, financial, military espionage whatever). Thanks! Wuerzele (talk) 16:57, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
:Hi - I'm confused by what you are asking. DO you mean to request that we spell out acronyms? What is a lemma?Timtempleton (talk) 23:51, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
External links modified
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to {{plural:2|one external link|2 external links}} on Internet security. Please take a moment to review [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=prev&oldid=698804268 my edit]. If necessary, add {{tlx|cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{tlx|nobots|deny{{=}}InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20090520070700/http://www.pcworld.com:80/article/155854/opera_plugs_severe_browser_hole.html to http://www.pcworld.com/article/155854/opera_plugs_severe_browser_hole.html

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.
