Talk:Interstate 26 in North Carolina

I find that this article has errors and things that didn't need to be fixed. The road runs north-south through North Carolina Despite it being an East-West Road. The mileage is wrong and other I did wrong but I spent a long time on this article for it to be tampered with in the wrong way. :Its written wrong way because despite how the freeway is geographically, it is still east-west in designation. This is why zero starts at Tennessee and the count ends into South Carolina. The article needs to reflect that fact and that is why it was tagged. You can fix that problem and then remove the tag. The mileage should be on what is actual of I-26, which has a gap from US 19/US 23A to I-40. Please keep in mind that the goal is to make a more accurate and factual article, so please don't shoot the messenger. -WashuOtaku (talk) 22:43, 2 December 2013 (UTC)

So there has been a lot of back and fourth lately on I-26 in Asheville. Officially, it is "FUTURE 26" through the city and the upcoming [http://www.ncdot.gov/projects/I26Connector/ Asheville Connector] will complete the current missing link, whenever it is built. I will concede that there are Non-Future signs along I-240, but officially it is also "Future 26." Here is the current [https://xfer.services.ncdot.gov/imgdot/DOTStateTravelMap/2015_2016_NCDOT_Map_Back.pdf 2015-2016 NCDOT State Map] and current [https://xfer.services.ncdot.gov/imgdot/DOTCountyMaps/PDFs/Buncombe_CountyMap_Sheet02_Final_web.pdf Buncombe County Map]; even in an upcoming public meeting on November 16th, [http://www.ncdot.gov/projects/I26Connector/download/151015_I-2513_handout.pdf the handout] that will be given even states the reason why the I-26 Connector is needed and that it will officially be designated I-26 once completed. I am providing overwhelming evidence that despite what some signs say on the ground. My hope is that those that keep insisting will read this and concede from the constant back-and-fourth edit battles.

Helene damaged I-26 (and I-40) and it’s likely they won’t be open for a while. I imagine NCDOT has given authoritative sources to cite. Can this page, the main page, and the I-40 pages get some details? Lordgilman (talk) 16:48, 8 October 2024 (UTC)

:The flooding damage on I-26 is in Tennessee, not North Carolina. Also, the article is about the interstate and not current events; people are not reading a Wikipedia article to see if the road is closed or not (or at least they should not). Information regarding Hurricane Helene should be limited only to the History section; more detail regarding Hurricane Helene would belong in its own article. --WashuOtaku (talk) 17:08, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
