Relationships
I removed the following comment which was anonymously [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jana_Novotn%C3%A1&diff=21133452&oldid=20146021 added] by User:210.50.202.83:
:She was involved in a relationship with Hana Mandlikova
If there are sources which corroborate this story, perhaps it could be added. Unfortuantely, this could be vandalism since the same anonymous user made [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&target=210.50.202.83 similar edits] to a number of pages of tennis pros. -- Cleduc 11:45, 16 August 2005 (UTC)

Requested move
The name of this article should be changed to "Jana Novotna" because that is the name used on the English-language websites of the official governing bodies of tennis, the [http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/2/players/playerprofiles/Playerbio.asp?PlayerID=140029 Women's Tennis Association] and the [http://www.itftennis.com/womens/players/player.asp?player=20000114 International Tennis Federation]. That also is the name used on the English-language websites of the [http://www.olympic.org/uk/athletes/results/team_uk.asp?PAR_I_ID=113052 Olympics], [http://www.tennisfame.com/famer.aspx?pgID=867&hof_id=225 the International Tennis Hall of Fame], and [http://www.fedcup.com/teams/player.asp?player=20000114 Fed Cup]. Finally, that is the name used on the English-language websites of the Grand Slam tournaments she won: [http://www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/bios/overview/wta312251.html French Open (Roland Garros)], [http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/about/history/rolls/ladiesroll.html Wimbledon singles], [http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/about/history/rolls/ladiesdoublesroll.html Wimbledon women's doubles], [http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/about/history/rolls/mixeddoublesroll.html Wimbledon mixed doubles], [http://2007.usopen.org/en_US/about/history/wdchamps.html US Open women's doubles], [http://2007.usopen.org/en_US/about/history/xdchamps.html US Open mixed doubles]. Request for wider input on discussion at WikiProject Tennis
There is a [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Tennis#Tournament_names long, ongoing discussion] at WP:Tennis about the tournament tables found in tennis articles on English-language Wikipedia (e.g., this type of table). The discussion is about whether the "official sponsored name" of a tournament - such as Pacific Life Open - or another tournament name without the sponsor - such as Indian Wells Masters - must be used in those articles. Please join the discussion here. Thanks. Tennis expert (talk) 09:23, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Timelines
The following -- indicated by their title -- are NOT "timelines".
They are actually a lot more like tables.
Single's performance timeline
Women's doubles performance timeline
WE know what a timeline looks like. You just need to call those by some other word or words. If something is not a horse, don't call it a horse, for example.
A timeline has just one horizontal axis - the time axis - and you cannot stack one axis above the other in a timeline.
A timeline has an x-axis and a y-axis.
To give you a rough idea of the looks of a timeline, I will give you a rough one for the progress of aviation & aerospace:
1903, 1909, 1915-18, 1927, 1939-45, 1947(the sound barrier was broken),
1950-53, 1958, 1961 (Yuri Gagarin orbited the Earth), 1962 (John Glenn
orbited the Earth), 1965, 1968 (the first flight around the Moon),
1969-72 (landings on the Moon), 1976 (passenger service on the Concorde),
1981 (the first flights of the Space Shuttle), 1990 (the launching of the
Hubble Space Telescope).
All of these should be stretched out on one long, horizontal line to make it a timeline.98.81.14.72
