Doha Accord, withdrawal from Afghanistan
The section about the fall of Afghanistan incorrectly states that Joe Biden oversaw the complete withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country resulting in the Taliban taking over the country. Donald Trump created the Doha Accord with the Taliban in February 2020 excluding the Afghanistan government and withdrew all but 2,500 U.S. troops from the country prior to Biden taking office resulting in the final fall of the country to the Taliban. Biden organized an airlift to help an additional number of people escape the country in the final stages of the collapse. Congress did not support the continued U.S. presence in Afghanistan. Ceasefire agreement in the lede
@Esterau16 The criteria for including information in the lede of an article is not purely whether or not that information is true, it's also whether it's notable. As I've explained when I made the edit, the ceasefire that was backed by Biden [https://apnews.com/article/israel-palestinians-hamas-war-ceasefire-hostages-netanyahu-ff48f081b069e484955a72bc68261364 did not last more than a few months] (additionally, there were [https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/15/world/middleeast/israel-gaza-cease-fire-attacks.html still killings] during the so-called ceasefire). The lede's purpose is to summarize the entirety of Biden's life and work, it seems obvious to me that backing this short-lived ceasefire agreement is far from making the cut.
